Alice Marie Zach was born in Middleburgh on April 9, 1926, a daughter of Howard and Velma (Wainwright) Wood and passed away on September 7, 2023.
Alice was a lifetime lover of horses, dogs and particularly her flowers. She enjoyed gardening, doing cross stitch, puzzles and bowling.
As a military wife packing up the family and moving every 3 years was a normal way of life. Tours in Florida and England being her favorites. The family settled down when Bob retired from the Air Force at Hampton, Virginia in 1970.
She spent the next 20 years working at NASA Langley Research Center before retiring. After Bob retired from Anheuser-Busch they enjoyed traveling, in particular to different bowling tournaments across the country.
Alice was married to Robert "Bob" Zach for 63 years from July 27, 1947 until he predeceased her on November 27, 2010. She was also predeceased by her eldest son: Richard "Rick" Zach; her sister: Marion Zach; nephew: Barry Zach
She will be loved forever by her youngest son: Terry Zach and his wife Wendy Zach; and granddaughter: Allison Zach; her nephew Dennis Zach and his wife Barbara; niece-in-law: Patricia Zach and all of their families.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh. Burial will follow in Keyserkill Cemetery. All are invited to a visitation with Alice's family to be held from 10:00-11:00AM on Friday, prior to the Funeral.
