Obituary

In the darkness of the storm on August 27, 2026, the world of so many people stopped turning. But there is light in darkness, the light and love someone shares cannot be extinguished. It burns now, powerfully brighter, in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved them. That light and love is just part of the legacy Adam D. McMullen will be remembered for,

The love and joy he brought to his parents, Kimberly (Gage) and David McMullen when he was born on September 14, 1995 in Albany. And the antics of a typical boy growing up, learning and experiencing life through friendships and school sports, excelling at baseball and basketball at Middleburgh Central School before graduating too.

To know Adam was to love him. He had a way of quietly becoming a person you cherished. Not one to always show a smile, but when he did, it lit up a room. He was kind hearted, all who knew him, knew that if they needed anything, he was there at the drop of a hat.

He was silly in all the best ways and witty in quiet moments that would create an outburst of laughter. He loved a good board game night and he was a movie connoisseur, who could recite pretty much any film. He loved the outdoors, fishing, preparing firewood for winter, sitting around a campfire with some 90's country or 80's rock music. But mostly he loved mowing his lawn. He made sure it had the "best lines" for any passing car to notice.

Adam was not afraid of anything, especially hard work. Stronger than an ox, with unwavering determination, he poured every ounce of strength, commitment and knowledge into his craft with Callanan Industries. His pride for being good at his job was something that anyone could notice. And he loved to pass down that knowledge to those coming up the ranks around him.

Undeniably though, his strongest trait was his love and dedication for his family. A devoted son and brother, he was always there for his family when they needed him. His love for his wife was palpable and fierce. A once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. And that love had him continuously striving for bigger things. He poured every ounce of that love into providing for his family to make sure that their dreams came true. That pride grew exponentially the day he and his wife welcomed their son, Luke, into the world. Being a dad meant everything to Adam, and he was the very best at it. He looked forward to becoming a "girl dad" too as he and Michele are expecting their little girl any day. His legacy of love and strength will live on through the eyes and hearts of his children.

He is our superhero. Who will be missed every minute, but remembered every second.

Loving Adam forever are his wife: Michele (Litterio) McMullen; his son: Luke McMullen and his daughter: Mia McMullen, who loved her dad with every breath and kick inside her mom's belly; his parents: Kimberly (Dan) Prest and David McMullen; his sisters: Darcy McMullen, Jessica Etman and Kelli (Ryan) Suydan; his brothers: Anthony (Kelly) Prest and Thomas Prest; his parents-in-law: Joyce and Edward Litterio; his sisters-in-law: Rachel (Matthew) Pizzulli and Victoria (Andrew) Mainini; his nieces and nephews: Alivia, Cooper, Carter, Jolene, Cason, Finn and Walt.

All are invited to a visitation with Adam's family from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY 12122. A celebration of Adam's life will begin at 4:00PM, following the visitation.
