Middleburgh – William L. Winegard, 75, of Campbell Road found eternal peace on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
Bill was born on March 9, 1944 in Catskill to Georgianna (Lorett) and Louis Winegard.
He retired from General Electric and also from Eagle Stone in Brewster many years ago.
“Wild “Bill from the Hill” was loved by everyone around the round table at Mrs. K’s Kitchen in Middleburgh. His sarcasm and Cheshire smile were enhanced by the twinkle in his eyes and his crazy eyebrows.
When not visiting and laughing with friends, Bill was attending antique shows or working with his antique tools, making wood crafts. He also volunteered at the Old Stone Fort in Schoharie. He enjoyed gardening and experimenting with new recipes, cooking with his best friend and companion, Loretta, who would be proud of his mastering gourmet franks ‘n beans.
Bill’s spirit found the same peace as his beloved companion and soulmate, Loretta Kennedy of Mrs. K’s, his grandson Dakota Winegard and his sister Betsy Hoyt.
Bill’s family includes his children: Timothy (Jeneen) Winegard of Greenville, Melinda (Scott) Mullen of Surprise, William (Laura) Winegard of Greenville; his siblings: Loretta Kiley and George Winegard; his grandchildren: Austin Winegard, Corey Winegard, Shianne Winegard who was the darling light in her “pop’s” eyes and his devoted caregiver, Zoe Mullen, Connor Mullen, Jenee Winegard, Brianna Winegard and many extended family members and friends from the round table at Mrs. K’s.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC 134 River Street, Middleburgh. Burial will follow in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie. All are invited to visit with Bill’s family from 10:00AM -11:00AM on Wednesday, prior to the service.
