Rensselaerville- Robert J. Mokricki, 81, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2017, with his family by his side.
Robert was born on February 10, 1936 in Yonkers to the late Margaret (Majcher) and John Mokricki.
He attended Gorton High School and the Art Students' League.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War, from 1955 to 1957.
He was an Art Director in New York City for over 35 years, establishing and operating several successful advertising studios including his last venture, Chromatic Design.
A talented artist and active in many organizations for artists, several of his pieces were exhibited in the Hudson River Museum and the Bennington Center for the Arts.
A Renaissance man in many respects, Robert was able to lay down his brush and pallet, pick up tools and build his own home, excelling in carpentry. He also loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Robert was married on September 18, 1960 to Josephine Listwan, who survives him along with his daughter: Dawn Kemp and her partner Frank M. Coscia; his son: Robert M. Mokricki and his wife Daniela; his brother: Charles C. Mokricki; his grandchildren: Chelsea Viani and her husband Matt, Dr. Brett Kemp, Alex Kemp, Skyler Kemp and Ciera Armida and her husband Michael; and several nieces and nephews
A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River St. Middleburgh. All are invited to a period of visitation from 11AM to 1PM, prior to the service, on Saturday. Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family.
