Robert E. Fulton, Sr.

Middleburgh: Robert E. Fulton Sr. of Middleburgh, set sail on eternal patrol on October 16, 2017. He died peacefully at home in the loving care of his family. He would have celebrated his 95th birthday that following Saturday. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Evelyn Bollten Fulton, his sister Agnes Fulton, and his son-in-law Merrill Berkheimer.
Robert “Steamboat” Fulton served his country during WWII in the Submarine Service of the U.S. Navy, and continued his service after the war as a civilian with the Department of the Army, retiring from government service in 1977. He was a life-long member of the Submarine Veterans of WWII, the USSVI Hudson Valley Base, VFW Post 8645, and the Free and Accepted Mason’s Noah Lodge 754.
He is survived by his children; Robert E. Fulton Jr. and his wife Nadine of Connecticut, Karen Berkheimer of Pennsylvania, Thomas J. Fulton and his wife Patti of Pennsylvania, and Susan FitzGerald and her husband Jay of New York. Robert’s legacy lives on with his loving eight grand-children and seven great-grandchildren.
All are invited to a visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a memorial service on Saturday November 4, 2017, at the Middleburgh Reformed Church Social Hall, River St. Middleburgh NY.
