Mark S. Ferenczy

Middleburgh - Mark S. Ferenczy, 55, of Maple Avenue, found eternal peace on December 4, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center following a long illness, surrounded by family and friends.

Mark was born on April 23, 1963 to Irene H. (Beregszaszy) and Paul C. Ferenczy. Mark attended Middleburgh Central School and most recently worked as a carpenter. He was also an auto parts salesman, truck driver, and foreman in the past.  Mark loved his community and volunteered for the Middleburgh Fire Department during the 1980s and early 1990s.

He enjoyed collecting antiques and World War II memorabilia, fishing, hunting, gardening, watching football, and woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his daughters and grandchildren.

Mark was predeceased by his mother Irene Ferenczy in 2009 and he will be held forever in the hearts of his father: Rev. Paul (Jeanne) Ferenczy of Delanson, brother: Paul (Ann) Ferenczy of Albany; sisters: Susan Ferenczy (Rick Frye) of Gloversville, Elizabeth Ferenczy of Kingston; four daughters: Amanda (Mike) Dreese of Henderson, NC, Kayla Ferenczy (Corey McHargue) of Middleburgh, Brittany Ferenczy (Kevin Carty) of Albany, Nicole Ferenczy of Albany; five grandchildren: Caleb Helme, Danika Dreese, Aaliyah Dreese, Eric Dreese, and Isabella Felton; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and a dear family friend, Timothy Wainwright of Cobleskill.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 3PM on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Middleburgh Reformed Church with Pastor Jeffrey Kelley officiating.

Mark’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Middleburgh Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 778, Middleburgh, NY 12122 or to the Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 817, Middleburgh, NY 12122.
