Middleburgh – Margaret E. Bouck, 72, of Main Street, found eternal peace from her declining health, with family at her side on December 5, 2018.
Born at the family homestead on Bouck’s Island on July 28, 1946, she was a daughter of Erving and Beatrice (Heness) Bouck and graduated from Middleburgh Central School.
Margaret learned early on the value of hard work and determination and worked at Shaul’s farm, cleaned homes, house-sat for friends, babysat for generations of her family and helped maintain many lawns in season around the community. She will always be remembered for over 39 years as the cafeteria manager at Middleburgh Elementary School, keeping the line moving and orderly.
Margaret also knew the importance of loved ones. She faithfully cared for her family throughout her life, encouraging, supporting and chastising when she thought it was needed. Her gruffness was a façade and beneath beat a loving, tender and caring heart, willing to share and help anyone without hesitation.
She also adored listening to the music of Elvis, watching classic movies and joining in the fun of family parties.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her son: Jonathan Palmatier and her siblings: Helen Hoop, Caroline Bouck, Eunice Munzo, Barbara Hoop, Joe Bouck and James Bouck.
Her life and love will always be treasured by her best friend, soulmate and spouse, Alice Palmatier, of Middleburgh, whom she married on October 28, 2012 and by her son: Donald Palmatier of Middleburgh; her brother: Steven (Marty) Bouck of High Point, NC; her aunt: Lila Myers of Florida; many nieces, nephews and friends.
While a celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced, her family thanks you for holding them close in thought through this time.
Margaret’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 817, Middleburgh, NY 12122.
Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of 134 River Street, Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Margaret and her family.
