Gilboa – Kathleen M. Doyle, 74, of Hubbard Road died unexpectedly on Friday, June 14, 2019.
Born on January 7, 1945 in New York City to the late Ellen (Sheehan) and Patrick Mohan. Kathleen was raised in the Bronx and as a young woman she worked for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and traveled the US, Ireland, and England with her girlfriends.
In 1996, she started a new life for her family in the country. She enjoyed caring for the cats and cows on the ranch and absolutely loved the simpler life.
Kathleen was the epitome of a kind hearted soul and loved getting to know every single person she met along her journey. She held Christmas in her heart throughout the year, still believed in Santa Claus and like him, shared unconditional love and generosity with everyone she met.
With a heart of gold and the luck of the Irish, her favorite pastimes were meeting up with friends at Bingo, spending quality time with family, reading a good mystery, and delving into family history. She loved the rocky New England coast, all animals, children, her Mobo the horse, and was truly young at heart.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband: John Doyle and her brother: Alexander Mohan.
Treasuring her love and memory forever are her best friend and companion of 22 years: Charles Clarke, of Gilboa; her children: Heleana Haskin of Gilboa, Alex (Sandra Kossow) of Schoharie, Michael (Erinn Eschler) of Mayfield, James Doyle of Boston; her sister: Eileen (Joseph) O’Leary of Croton-on-Hudson; her grandchildren: Evan and Alexis Haskin of Gilboa and Oliver and Elspeth Doyle of Schoharie; her sister-in-law: Sr. Mary Doyle of Brooklyn; her niece: Kathleen O’Leary; her nephews: Robert and John O’Leary; her great-nephew: Patrick O’Leary and many other family members and friends.
While cremation will be held privately beforehand, all are invited to a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street Middleburgh.
