Schoharie – Helen Wise, 95, of State Route 30, died peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2018, in the warmth of her own home.
Helen was born in Duanesburg on February 22, 1922 to Mary (Townsend) and Moore Maconaghy.
Her devotion to her home, family and faith saw Helen assisting her husband, Raymond, whom she married on July 13, 1940, in the actual building of their home together, raising a family and enjoying quiet moments reading, crocheting and sewing.
She volunteered with the Auxiliary at Cobleskill Regional Hospital and was a member of the Quaker Street Bible Church, strong, passionate and devoted to her faith and love of God.
Raymond predeceased her on February 6, 1986, and along with other family members and friends, joyously welcomed her home to Heaven.
Helen’s family includes her daughters: Carol Wise of Schoharie, Cindy (Tim) Brown of Middleburgh; son: Brian (Annette) Wise of Tracy, CA; grandchildren: Marie, Julie, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jeremiah and several great grandchildren.
Helen’s family invites you to a funeral service, celebrating her birth and birthday, this year in Heaven, at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street in Middleburgh with Pastor Marc Proch, of the Quaker Street Bible Church officiating. All are invited to visit with her family from 10-11AM prior to the service. Spring interment will be made in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie.
