Middleburgh – Evaleen P. Hatton, 85, formerly of Middleburgh, died peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at The Grand in Guilderland from declining health.
Evaleen was born on December 11, 1933 in Middleburgh to Ruby (Miller) and James Hadsell.
With a stern temperament, Evaleen devoted herself to raising her family, yet found time to master cooking, baking and working at the Carrot Barn in Schoharie for several years. Evaleen also generously opened her heart and home to foster children and she also enjoyed listening to Country music.
Evaleen was predeceased by her parents and her husband: David W. Hatton.
Her loving family includes her daughters: Nancy (Albert) Porter of Huntersland, Brenda (Gerry) Layton of Middleburgh, Judith (Rick) Thayer of Middleburgh; grandchildren: Thomas (Kristy) Layton, David (April) Layton, Jennifer (Andy) Rathkopf, Shannon Thayer (John Crescimanno), Brian Thayer (Christina Best), Dustin Porter (Faith Diamond); great-grandchildren: Collin Layton, Kalynn Layton, Kaden Layton, Gianna Crescimanno.
While services will be held privately per Evaleen’s request, her family extends their gratitude for remembering them and to Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh for their care and compassion.
